Luxury stays in Sifnos
Sifnos does not do large resorts. At the top end you are choosing between private villas with a pool and small hotels with a high standard of finish.
What to expect
The island has no five-star chain hotels. The most comfortable options are privately owned villas, often with their own pool and a view over one of the south-coast bays, and a small number of boutique hotels.
Service is personal rather than corporate. Owners tend to be present, and requests are handled directly rather than through a desk.
Villas versus boutique hotels
- Villas
- Space, privacy, a kitchen and usually a pool. Best for families or two couples travelling together. You will want a car.
- Boutique hotels
- Daily housekeeping, breakfast and someone at hand. Better if you would rather not self-cater.
Booking
Villas are the first thing to go for July and August, often months ahead. Rates depend on dates and party size, so the properties quote them directly rather than publishing a single figure.
